About Us

What we Do

The Purdue Men’s Rugby Club aims to bring a competitive and enjoyable rugby experience to the members of Purdue’s community. We have a competitive 15’s season in the fall semester and a competitive 7’s season in the spring semester. We strive to be excellent rugby players, provide a memorable experience to our members and to support our community.

History

The club was founded in 1970 by a group of young men looking to bring rugby to Purdue. Big and small, short and tall, Purdue Men’s Rugby Club has always been a place for anyone interested. We have a great and active alumni base that has kept us running throughout the years. The team has seen some great teams in past years, bringing home championship trophies on multiple occasions. If you are an alumni looking to get in touch with our network, contact with our alumni officer.

Community Service

The Purdue Men’s Rugby Club has been rucking and scrumming at Purdue for the last 51 years, and it could not have been possible without the continued support of our community, from sponsors, donors, partners, and fans. In order to give back to the people and organizations that have helped us become who we are, we engage in yearly community service endeavors from cleaning up our local park to fundraising for the Indiana special olympics through Polar Plunge. The Purdue Men’s Rugby Club continuously looks to serve the community that supports us, please reach out to our community service officer if you have an opportunity for us to give back.

Fundraising

In order to keep our ruckers rucking and scrummers scrumming, fundraising is a vital tool for our team. We do much of our fundraising through alumni gifts during Purdue Day of Giving in April. We also have lots of ways for sponsors to get involved with the club, including sponsoring equipment, partnering for events, becoming a season sponsor or anything else that mutually benefits the club and a sponsor. Contact our fundraising officer to get the conversation started.
