tough Loss at ND

Last Friday, Purdue headed to South Bend Indiana for their yearly contest against Notre Dame. Purdue was looking to keep their momentum going after a big win over Trine the last weekend as Notre Dame was looking for their first win after a tough loss to OSU. The evening game got underway with Purdue kicking off to the Fighting Irish. And from then on it was a defensive battle as Purdue had to repel an onslaught of Notre Dame attacks. It was a physical game that Purdue had to weather as time and time again they found themselves on their try line. They were able to prevent almost every attack besides a quick pick by their scrum-half who dove in for the only try in the half. Purdue struggled with offense and couldn’t quite get their kicks to work or get any amount of momentum. Besides some good runs by Jack Judson, who made his re-appearance as a starter for the game, and Zander Visser, Purdue rarely played in the opposition half and had to play a full half of mostly defense. However, they were able to keep the score 5-0 going into halftime, leaving the game up for grabs. This quickly changed as the second half started with a quick turnover and try by the Irish against a tired Purdue. After that second score, Purdue looked flat and out of energy, letting Notre Dame take advantage of that with more scores with one coming off an interception. The final score was 34-0 as Purdue took its first loss this season. After this tough loss, Purdue is going to be hungry as they host Marian at home. The Hammer of the match was not awarded for this game
