Home Loss

After the tough loss last Friday, Purdue was looking for a win at their home opener against the Varsity Marian rugby team. After a week of tough practices and working through setbacks, Purdue was eager to get out there and show that they were not to be defined by one loss. However, Marian was quick to strike and was the first to get on the board with a converted try. And from then on it look as if Purdue was stuck in that second half from Notre Dame. The defense wasn’t clicking and the offense was flat. Purdue struggled to get out of their own half. After some substitutions in the second half, Purdue was able to get on the board with a converted try. The final score of 52 – 7 left Purdue with a bad taste in their mouths. With the next fixture at IUPUI in a week, Purdue will have to put in another hard week to make sure they are ready for their next game and the rapidly approaching conference games.
